I've never tried in Linux. Google says hardinfo or I-Nex.

chkrootkit seems to create many false positives. I wouldn't worry about it. You can post on the chkrootkit mailing list if you are concerned.

Yeah, you probably have 2 sticks. You can always open the back port and look at it. It's pretty tough just looking at it(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DDR_SDRAM). Just make sure the little bump fits the notch. You don't have to buy 2. You can put just put 1GB in plus your 512MB. That should work on most computers.
You can find on ebay or craigslist for a couple of bucks(although I guess you are not in the US). I found 3 free laptops over the last 2 months. Have not even looked at what hardware it has yet.

Today i dusted the computer and great clouds of dust left out of it so it's clean now. Maybe the graphics are working better now and the computer makes a little less noise. There is two memory slots inside the computer both 512 mb ddr and their speed should be 366 at least that read on the sticks but then again the test shows their speed being 266. I wonder if theres some bios memory setting or something that is configured wrong. Yeah i am from finland.
