Signal and process handling in linux


hi i m new user of linux, i had earlier worked on windows based system.

i want to know very good tutorial on process handling in linux, and how the fork and exec works in linux with example it will be better.

Also how the signals are handled in linux systems.

Hi, it sounds like you're interested more in programming rather than the features of the operating system, how to install it, maintain it, and the like.

If you want to know more then you need to decide on which distro you're interesting in using. After that then you need to decide which programming language you want to use. Here's a little twist from your wintendo experience, you can forget about using all the "visual" stuff since it doesn't work in Linux, or as far as I know it doesn't. In Linux you can pretty much use everything else, like C, C++, java, fortran, perl, etc. etc except none of the compilers in Linux use "Visual" software i.e. microsoft compilers.

But from my programming days, it's not really that hard. You just have to know what libraries to load in the programming language that you're using and how to make the function call.
