Okey dokey... Update. I upgraded to RH9 and so far I LOVE it... Runs a WHOLE lot faster than RH8 did + It has all kinds of little interface tweaks that really make it a lot nicer to use... So the Topic of this thread is no longer, "Should I move away from RH8" But is now "Should I Abandon RH9?" Oh, BTW is there anyone out there who has been able to get MS ActiveSync to work under linux using Wine or WineX???

I just installed RH9 on my piddly system ( K6-2 450, 196 mb RAM ). It did start faster, and move through the system much faster. Must be the NPTL (?). Still have more "tweaking" to do with it.

So ,
As i read this thread, I should upgrade to RH9 ?
Currently I run RH7.3 and i am/was quit happy with it...
But if upgrading really makes such a difference, it's worth the trouble......

One really nice feature about RH9(aside from the speed increase) over earlier versions is that it has builtin support for more wheel/web mice...

Oh, and to NgraphiX. YES! Upgrading from RH8 to RH9 is TOTALLY worth it... I don''t know about if you are upgrading from earlier versions of RH because 8 was the first one I used. But, Unless you have a MAJORLY tweaked out RH8(meaning, basically, a tweaked out kernel) then the upgrade is more than worth it.
Speed difference loading printer manager: RH8 1-2min. RH9 2-4seconds... Similar comparisons for Mozilla, Evolution, Konq, EVERYTHING....
