Service Consuming more resources issue

Hi,

In my Server,APACHE service is consuming more resources and the Load on the server is very high. How to decrease this load and improve the performance of the server ?

I don't want to kill the apache services. These services should be not killed and the load should be decreased.

How can we do that ?

More details are needed. A load-balancer, maybe?
