I was wondering what some of you other admins for companys use for antivirus scanning in sendmail. I am looking for a good reliable solution so that I do not have to worry about desktop antivirus as much.

set up procmail then use it to block executables and other dodgy file types/emails?

Maybe a bit of spamassassin to remove unwanted spam if you get that as well. Though this probably won't get rid of virii in of itself unless you tweak the default procmail filter it gives you. By default, it will ignore emails over a certain size which will probably be the majority of emails.

Sorry that prob not that much help. Just keep in mind than sendmail is predominantly a transger agent and therefore used for sending mail to the right place, not filtering. This is the job of Procmail.

Thanks for the advice, I will look into some procmail, and spamassassin. If anyone else has some advice I would appreciate it too.
