Secure ftp from IE

I have a small problem. I set up an ftp server at home, and I want to be able to access it from my school using IE. I could type ftp://myname@myipaddr, but that would require an insecure connection. That's bad because not only can people sniff (is that the right word?) out my password, I also have to forward my ftp port to my computer, and if i port-forward it, then anybody who wants can use a password cracker to figure out my password easily (believe me, i've tried on other peoples' machines...)

But windows doesn't come with an SSH client, and I can't install a client like PuTTY on my school's comp, so what way is there to secure the connection without having potential problems?

Putty is a self executing program. You don't need to install it, you can run it from a read-only media like a CD or floppy. Or you can temporarily copy it to the /tmp oh sorry C:\temp and run it from there then delete it as it's all inclusive (self sustained binary).

As for secure FTP, I don't think you can do that from IE, you might be able to use the crippled DOS windoze has, sftp might just exist... But you'll also need to support from the server side.

Cool
