Scrolling after ls...

How do I scroll through the output after I run ls. It seems most of the info is to much to fit on the screen. I used ls --more but that didn't seem to work.

ls | less
(man ls)
(man less)
or make sure your terminal has a scrollbar and just scroll back up using
that.

You can always hold Shift and press the Page Up and Page Down also to scroll as well.

or you can run ls -l | more (man more) or if it is a BIG BIG amount of data you can forward it to a file and then use an editor to see it:

$ ls -l /home/myplace > /home/lsl.out
$ vi lsl.out #vi is an editor (man vi)
