Screen Resolution in IceWM

I am running Vector Linux SOHO and recently purchasd a flat screen monitor which doesn't support the current settings. The monitor will display video when linux is booting up but when ICEWM loads, the monitor will not display video. I have looked through some of the archives and it seems that I need to change something in the x86 config file. Can someone please tell me what to change to get my monitor working.

Thanks,
Jason

The first thing I'd do is make a back-up copy
of /etc/X11/XF86Config and then run
XFree86 -configure
It will try to auto-sense your setup, and often
manages well ... ;) ... it will tell you the name
of a temporary config file.
You can then start it with
XFree86 -xf86config <the file it told you to>
and see whether it's all happy ...

Cheers,
Tink
