Screen escape sequence

I'm trying to change the escape sequence on screen to C-. (that's control+dot) but that doesn't seem possible.

Anyone ever attempted this and knows the answer?

Code:
~]$ screen -e^.
Two characters are required with -e option, not '^.'.
So the answers are yes and yes but that doesn't mean the outcome is what you want ;-p

Thanks for pointing that out, perhaps I should have mentioned I already tried a few options.

So does this means this is a limitation on screen and for some reason it does not accept ^. as a escape sequence? (also some other punctuation marks)

Perhaps that would have been more efficient.

The return message does seem to imply that, yes.

Cool Actual solution!

I know that this is more than a decade old, but I ran into the same problem today, and googling the screen error took me here.

Really? I'm pretty sorely mad that nobody actually tried to recreate/solve the problem.

Anyway, screen wants two characters. Checking the sample in the man page it says something like -e xy as the template and"-e^Aa" as the example... ^A counts as one character.

Try something like this, instead:

Code:
screen -e^Kk
EDIT: ^.. doesn't, actually work. Just about any other key in the universe does ( -e^}} )
