Samb/LDAP sambaLDAP migration difwrent domains


HI

I am using redhat es3 update 7 samba 3

I am trying to migrate samba ldap old domain to a new (domain.name )using samba/ldap configuration.

old windows domain aaaa.com
old linux domain xxxx.com
new domain yyyy.com

how to migrate users seamlessly.

after migration will all the shares (windows and linux) work the way it did

how to migrate windows AD users to this new domain yyyy.com

Based on my recollection, there's some authentication going on that's cached once a drive is mapped. Using the old authentication in the new domain may produce errors. Remap once the computers are in the new domain.

Maybe someone else knows how to make it seamless?

Hay Do I have to add all the machines/and users manually or is there a way to rip the users and other credential from the old PDCs tho the new pdc

I want to do this migration without the users knowledge of such a thing has took place

Is this posible

The short answer is: No.

The long answer is: If you need help switching domains, I suggest you find someone with some experience to do the job for you because your questions make it look like you don't have a clue.
