RH8 Modifying Default Apache / PHP config

Hello all, I have a question regarding RH8 and its default Apache and PHP config. I've been developing an app on this for a few weeks using a MySQL DB and mostly PHP with some PERL, and wanted to use Flash to graph some data with the swf includes (libswf.a). I'm about to use the Apache (2.0.44) and php (4.3.0) src to add support for swf in PHP.

So before I do this and possibly create new and unknown headaches, is there any way to simply add '--with-swf' to PHP without recompiling everything? I'm guessing that the default RH8 install is just the binaries via RPM, making a simple reconfig impossible sans the src for php. What I'm afraid of is screwing up Apache and PHP such that all my current work will have problems or that I will simply have other debugging to do. Mostly concerning all the dir struct changes from RH8 default to my install from src.

Anyone using swf with RH8?

I'm interested in PHP-Flash integration. So if could share your code ( flash portions ) I mean post a link to it or something, that would be great. That should give me something to start with.

Just now beginning to tinker with it, nothing more than cool looking useless stuff as of yet. Soon to be used for a bit more practical representation of data. Once I have something presentable I'll share. =) I must say it is very cool, and very fast.
