Restarting modem from command line


i wanted to know how restart the modem from the command line.

i have ubuntu 7.04 installed and i use WA1003A router/modem.

please help.

I do not know ubuntu, but there are probably two scripts.
pppoe-stop - To stop the pppoe connection, and
pppoe-start - To start the pppoe connection.

These two scripts need to be executed with root privileges.
Warning - the results may be unreliable. Sometimes the hardware needs to be reinitialised with a power cycle.
