remove archive setting under linux?


Hi, on windows xp for any file properties there is an archive setting. I was wondering if there was a similar setting on linux? If so, how do I disable archive for the file in linux? thanks.

what exactly does this "archive" setting do on windows?? in other words, what's the difference between a file before and after i select "archive" in its properties dialog??

I think it's when windows backs up the file in windows restore, so there isn't anything like that in linux unless you decide to install one.
