remove a database server from autostart

My Linux server has a database server that auto starts on reboot. How can I make it not auto start on reboot?

Will removing it from init.d helps? I guess not. Thanks.

Nick

well if you don't want it, uninstall it. would be just *slightly* useful to maybe tell us what it's called... is it a secret? you've also not told us what distro you have... please provide more information in your questions
