RedHat 9 and KDE

I'm running RedHat 9 with the default KDE at 1600x1200 resolution. I have a few issues/questions.

1) I know RedHat screwed around with the KDE functionality, but is it possible to make it "zoom icons" as it does in Debian? I found a switch here:
"Control Panel" > Appearance & Themes > Panels
...But it doesn't do anything. Is this a downloadable Theme, or something that requires a newer KDE version?

2) When I leave my X up for more than two days the screen resolution seems to jump to 800x600, where the bottom 300 and top 300 pixels on my screen are split in the middle - bottom 3 at the top, top 3 underneath that. This happens at the GDM Login screen as well though, so I don't think it's KDE related as much as maybe a Video Driver issue. Anybody have any ideas. It's less important to me than the other issue as I have a workaround. Console switching (C-Meta-F1 and C-Meta-F7) will always make the video jump back in line.

I would think it is the theme. Try downloading the noia icon set, it has some "rollover" icons.

I can't help you with the X problem but do you have a screen saver running? If not then maybe that would help or just have the monitor turn off after so long.

i think its the special editon of xscreensaver that trick you.
hahaha.....
i'm just joking only.

my suggestion for you about the x problem is that try to use gnome xdesktop for some time and test it for some time and see whether it happend again. if it happens again then i'm sure that is you video card compatibality problem. if so then you might have to dig in to your kernel and findout whats went wrong. many hardwork has to put on it inorder to fix it. to learn linux, this is what must be done. but believe me you'll be proud of yourself it you fix this. i know what you feel. but dont give up. we all here to help.
