Recompile the Kernel

Hi,

I dont have recompile the kernel since 2.2.16. So I dont know if the compilation of the kernel 2.2.18 is going to be different than 2.2.16.

I try to do it under SuSE 7.1 with 2.2.18 and I get an error " EDBA" too big.

I compile in this way

make dep
make clean
make bzImage

cp vmlinuz /boot/vmlinuz

make modules

make modules_install

lilo
reboot

I have to do something additional for 2.2.18?

It doesn't look like your copying the new kernel! Have a look at arch/i386/vmlinuz (if I remember correctly)

Heh. Almost. bzimage is dumped in arch/i386/boot.
