Quick wine/ldconfig question...

I was compiling wine from source, and at the end of the make, I got the message:

add the line '/usr/local/lib' to /etc/ld.so.conf and run /sbin/ldconfig export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/usr/local/lib

When I checked /etc/ld.so.conf, I saw that /usr/local/lib was already there. Was that entered already, or by wineinstall?

When I enter 'ldconfig export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/usr/local/lib' as root while in the /sbin directory, I get the message:

ldconfig: :/usr/local/lib is not a known library type

What should I do from here?
