Problem in using using startx from Backtrack 2.0 live cd

hi ALl,

I am a Pen tester,exploring latest backtrack version 2.0 live cd.When I use this cd on one of the system in my lab, i am not able to switch to X windows.
I am using startx command from root command shell.On other system, this command brings the GUI for linux.but on a particular desktop when i book the system using Backtrack live cd, after giving startx command i get fatal error .

Can anyone sugest me on this?
I dont know what all details shall i post.please help me.

Also post hardware specs from that machine, particularly the GUI-related components like graphics card, monitor, etc.

Try running the confx command to configure the video stuff, then run startx.
