Printing from the terminal


I need help printing from the terminal. I know part of the command, you use lpd i think and i need help.

Please provide some good information when asking a question, it helps others help you. You don't say anything about what distro/version of Linux, or what you're trying to do.

Type in "man lpr" at the prompt, and read the command description and options. LPR will let you print files to existing print queues, but you'll have to know what queues you have defined, and some other things about the print job.

Try "man lp"

If the desired printer is not set as the default, then you would need to specify it.
