Powerswitch

Anybody got their powerswitch shutting down their system in suspend mode?

I can do it with the powerswitch.o module, but it's supposed to be in the kernel.

I have the switch support compiled into the kernel and I believe it is doing something. It just seems to be generating errors.

Well actually it's not generating errors, it's going into Suspend Mode and it Resumes normally.

I want it to shut down. Any Ideas?

could this possibly be a bios issue? maybe your poweroff button is set to go to suspend (STR) instead of power off, so kernel will recieve interrupts to go into ACPI sleep... which ain't possible...

juat a thought.

That's what it's set for.

If it is set for suspend the system will suspend and resume. I am looking for the apmd script I guess that does the suspend, so that I can change it to poweroff.

If the button was set to off the system will go of without shutting down.

The powerswitch.o module works with the suspend mode to power off the system.

However the support is now in the kernel for the suspend button, so I am trying to eliminate the module since it is the only module in the system.
