hello all,
now i really skrewed up, ran into the following situation which kinda makes my hair raise...
i got and ide raid + some drives on mobo as well
raid drive i'm in trouble with is hdb
originally ran on fedora 1, updated to fc2
on fc1 the boot was written to hdb once by mistake (no other partitions exsisted at that time on this drive) but later, upon reinstall boot was moved to mbr of hde (didn't do anything with hdb though just used different drive in installer) < my prim mast from mobo, all well & created hdb partition for use, all well again
upgraded to fc2, bootloader was not installed into hde's mbr without probs, at this point hdb was still accessible
now started playing with hdparm to modify various settings, it worked well when i executed it when was already booted, then decided to "automate" the process by including the command into /etc/rc.d/rc.local, upon reboot the script crashed (though it ran previously quite fine!), had to press the magic reboot button after loosing all hopes... this is where sh*t started...
upon reboot i saw that hdb failed to mount...
used fdisk & parted to check whats the deal & the most f*ked up thing is that I actually see my partition (speaking of > before partition there was some free space, @ some step i tried creating a new partition to see if i can access it without formatting - nada, removed this new partition)!
however all attempts to mount it result in bad superblock message... also in fdisk or parted i get this message that smth is not alligned properly.
already tried the "fixing" options from fdisk or parted whichever one, but it didn't help
should i go out & get drunk or there still might be some trick i can try, any software or anything like this?
PLZ HELP !!!
