Please be more specific, why can't you install xawtv in redhat? What is the exact problem? (xawtv worked with me)

Then what is it? If it's a tar.gz or another compressed format it probably contains the sourcecode and you'll have to compile it yourself. This may sound intimidating if you have never done this before but it's a real piece of cake. There's probably a README included, so I suggest you read that first, the instructions are probably in it. Usually you just have to type: 'make config' and after that 'make install'

amjad,

In order for anyone here to help you, you'll need to be more precise in your posts and questions. You need to provide better details and if anyone asks questions, you should try to answer them, or your never going to find a quick solution or help.

Also in the future, please try to use better thread Titles, "help me" doesn't describe your problem or question.

Regards.

I installed RedHat 9 on one of my systems recently. I just opened an xterm and typed this

xawtv

and guess what, it came up. So I know for sure that it's included with redhat as an rpm file.

scantv also comes with redhat which is used to setup the .xawtv file which has the channels

If you start xawtv from the console (eg typing xawtv, not clicking on an icon), give us the output of the program. Maybe there's an error in there with wich we can help you
