patch kde

Hi,

Sometimes i want to patch the KDE, however, i just find some diff files, like this: post-3.4.3-kdegraphics-CVE-2006-0301.diff, do i need to download the whole kdegraphics, compile it, find the right file and then use command 'patch' to patch it?
is that right? i m not sure. Any reply will be appreciated, thanks.

Actually, you need to apply the patch before you compile it, but other than that, you've got the basic idea.
