I have a 20 gig hd I am using strictly for a Linux install. I usually just set up the "big 3" Partitions boot, swap, root . I had seen instances of adding logical drives for /var /temp and a few other directories. What are the advantages of setting up a drive that way ? (I've only been able to find various setups but the didnt explain why they were set up the way they were)
Next question
What would be a good partitioning setup for this drive ? My main concern is me-proofing it ! I'm still learning and would like to have a way of falling back if I totally goof something up.
Thanks
