I have a question about compatible IP cameras to be used with linux systems. I have a Foscam FI8910W that works well with opensuse leap 42.1. The reason seems to be that all of the software to run the camera resides on the camera. I have noticed recently that many cameras require plug-ins that run only on windoz systems. I do not use windoz hence this is a problem at least for the outdoor IP cameras that seem to be available

I would appreciate any suggestions on available equipment that is more attuned to linux systems that I could use for remote viewing via the internet (not with android devices) and do ftp transfers to my remote servers for recording purposes as I do now with the indoor FI8910W.
