Lightbulb Additional Info.

You need to be running the new kernel (the one you need to install the Nvidia drivers on.) If you have previously installed the drivers on an older kernel, then you will have problems running X on the new kernel. This won't matter, however, because you only need a command line.

The important thing is that you configure and make install the GLX drivers from within the new kernel. Sorry if I didn't explain that earlier.

Then you have to back to the old kernel and do make -SYSINCLUDE=/usr/src/linux-2.4.18-17.8.0/include

Now go back and boot the new kernel again. If you see the NVIDIA splash screen and X loads properly then you're all set.

Guys, Im about to install Redhat 8.0. What # CD is the kernel-source file on. I want to make sure I install all the dependencies to make sure my install of the Nidia drivers goes smooth.
So far I have the first 3 CDs . Do I need the #4 and # 5 for these.

No, you don't need them.
