new kernel not releasing memory

I have noticed that my RH7 box is no onger freeing off memory, like it used to. After a few hours I would normally see the used memory decrease, but since compiling and using either 2.4.22 or indeed 2.6.0 this has not been the case.

any ideas?

Thanks...

I was wondering the same thing. Everytime I decode a DVD it doesn't ever free the memory when it is done.
