need to know system command to change text color


can any body tell me the system commands that can change the foreground color of the terminal.

If you're talking about the virtual consoles the command is setterm -foreground color .

Put the color you want in place of color , but there is a catch. You can only select the colors that are available. Do a man setterm to see the colors you can choose.

It also might help to know what terminal program you're using. Or are you talking about the console without X?
