Need script to check file size.

I need a script that checks the size of a file and if it has changed from the last check it will notify the admin by email. I'm not sure exactly what commands to use for this but if someone can give me some clues I think I can piece something together.

Look into the Tripwire program. It runs md5checksums against files you name in the configuration file and will report any changes made since the last check.
