when attempting to install mandrake, i reach the "...Timer:
Vector=...." message then my system hangs, i believe there was a special command to use to install, somthing like "linux no.." thanks -JAmes

It might be possible, that the iso hasn't been burned right into the cd.
Is the cd self-burned? By you, or a friend.. If is, download the cd image again,
and burnit intoa cd, and try again. If it fails AGAIN, there's something wrong with
your box..
well, i had this same problem the first time installing linux, i asked on another forum that i cannot find now.. i was told not to do the basic install by hitting enter, but to type a command to disable somthing during the install, the command was somthing like "linux no (im missing the word that goes here)".. thanks -james
