Exclamation my box wont boot anyone have seen this ?

my Box

Fedora core 2 test3 with a custom kernel 2.6.5
the thing is i turn my machine on everything is working fine so im happy so i decided to install the freakyfonts and i do, plus i as root switchdesk kde, well the thing is the freakyfonts werent working so i decided to re-start X ctrl-alt-backspace and here it explodes X kept crashing it wouldnt start after 6 times so it shut down and stopped trying im all worried and as newbie i am i decided everything was fine 5mins ago so im gonna reboot and see what happens, $ init 6.

Boom again linux boots but everything is failing until a point its stops and i can do anything i trie ctrl-alt-delete and it says /usr/sbin/init permission denied all goes so fast that the only thing that i can see is that starts failing by klog something failing cause of permission denied, what i think it happened is that for some reason my permissions got fucked and it doesnt have permission to do anything so everything fails leaving me with a dull box, if anyone have seen this please help im a few hours away from formating and reinstalling but thatll be shitty cause i've been with this conf for 7 months or more and i dont wanna loose it, plus i cant do backup and i cant debug the problem cause i cant use the machine cause it wont boot not even with bootdisk although with a redhat boot disk it started with no fails but it didnt work cause it didnt find kernel 2.4.28 modules so it never finish booting =/ so im stuck anyone seen this prioblem ill appreciate it any answer.
i know im a newbie but im a very fast learner so plz help with any suggestion ill try them real fast

Fedora core 2 test3:

they release these "test" releases because they are trying to fix bugs in them. If you want a solid release don't use a test version. This may or may not be your problem.

true, but since i had a custom kernel and basically everything customized never cared... but anyone im now with a FC2 release and im working fine, i manage to get some backups cause in one of my tries the boot stop and asked me to manually fsck the drives so i took that chance and backup everything to a safe fat32 partition, heh your right the test realease may or may not be my problem...
