ms word

my dad and i have had more than enough problems with word freezing and getting rid of several hours of work. i was thinking that i could install linux on a different partition and use something like wine (if he would approve, he's not too crazy about what i'm doing with my computer). would this change the stability of word or not because it's just so horribly coded? the latest problem was when word froze when trying to use end note

you could use an alternative like staroffice.. cross compatible with word.... or there are some others too... but i recommend staroffice.

Good idea

I agree with the star office thing.
If word is dodgy in your windows if will prolly be dodgy in wine unless its windows memory management thats causing it.
