Missing Modprobe

There was an error with the filesystem and it says some files have errors where modprobe (insmod) is one of them. After letting the system corrects the file system, modprobe was missing and nowhere to be found. Now the system and mount a disk drive, CDROM, nor put up a network connection.

Is there any way to install the modutils package so we can get the modprobe and other libraries that are needed ?

thanks in advance.

You can try booting with a live CD/rescue CD and fix the system.

we tried booting with a rescue disk and we also tried booting with redhat installation disc but we don't know what package to select in installation disc while in using the rescue disk only boots the system.

we still can't mount the CD, floppy drive nor even even use the ifup.

should we just reinstall the entire server ?

thanks for the reply.
