Question mdraid, backup superblock/metadata

I'm trying to setup disaster recovery. I have raid1 and raid5 linux-mdraid partitions. One area that seems to be a weak point is the mdraid superblock on each drive.

Is there a way of me backing up this information?

Perhaps to dd the correct blocks?
An application that can export (and import!) the metadata to file?

Or is this a whole waste of time and recreating a failed raid is easy with mdadm even when the superblock is damaged?

Advice needed, thankyou!

Hi!
Mmmhhh, well the superblock is at the end of each HDD - but to be honest I don't know if it's at the really end of the HDD or at the end of the space reserved for the RAID. "man" says that the superblock uses 128Kb (bytes? bits? Probably bytes?).
I have a SW-RAID1 and 5 and drives failed a couple of times (my fault...), and it was always very easy to just re-add the faulty drive with e.g. "mdadm /dev/md1 --add /dev/sdf1" and it rebuilt straight without any data loss. The same (if I remember correctly) when swapping HDDs (if one belonged to another RAID you can run "mdadm --zero-superblock /dev/sdc1" to overwrite it with 0s).
Don't think you need to waste time backing up separately those superblocks... .
