Md5sum?


i have heard many good things about linux and plan to dual boot the next PC i build with RH9 and XP. i have downloaded all iso images needed (i think) to install the OS but i hear you have execute some sort of "error check" using md5sum but i dont know anything about it.

where do i find md5sum and how does it work?

If you do a search for md5sum on google plenty of links come up, the first link has a windows download for it.
I'd post links but I ain't allowed to do that till I hit 5 posts.
Just search on the mighty google and all will be answered
As far as I know it checks the file is what it should be...in non-technical terms.

ive downloaded and tried a few ive found on google but none of them have worked. can you use them with XP? im never able to find the file, or it just closes right away and wont perform the check.
