Makefile problem in giFT

Ok, I'm feeling pretty stupid now. I'm trying to install giFT. I downloaded all four packages needed, untared them. Successfully configured the first one: gift-0.11.4. When I type 'make', I get:

Making all in meta
make[1]: Entering directory `/home/ellis/Documents/giFT/gift-0.11.4/src/meta'
make[1]: *** No rule to make target `all'. Stop.
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/ellis/Documents/giFT/gift-0.11.4/src/meta'
make: *** [all-recursive] Error 1

Got any bright ideas what's wrong?
