LPOPTIONS file getting reset after restarting Print Queue

I configure the LPOPTIONS file for printer settings and all the good stuff.

After restarting the Print Queue because of a problem or just to restart, it ends up erasing all the configuration I have made in the LPOPTIONS file.

Does anyone know a reason this would be happening?

What distribution are you using and is this dealing with Cups? Have you tried to manually configure your printer? I would assume when your restarting, the restart script has its own reconfigure script wiping out the settings you've just made.
