log files


Where can I find the logs of all the programs that are runned and all the downloads that have been made...(mandrake 10.0)

most log files are kept in /var.
Downloads? Uh, if you're talking about installing software, the package manager should keep track of that.

Nope I want to learn what other people downloaded from my computer..With amule and firefox... I couldnt find the log file of both programs in the /var directory..

amule is a P2P application.. check its documentation of where or if it even keeps logs of downloads that others have downloaded from you. These would not be kept in /var but probably rather in your own /home partition..

ok then how can I program my operating system for logging all the incoming and outgoning folders

Using amule I take it? Well, refer to the documentation and if this feature is not already included with the program, learn to program applications and code..
