live cd

need to do a stress test performance on a program for my work.

current is running linux under vmware. but boss says vmware slows down performance. so want to test it under a linux live CD.

Can someone suggest a easy way to do so? Since never tried live CD before.

Can you actually run a program in the harddrive from the liveCD? Since my WinXP is using NTFS. My linux box is under vmware...

No.. I don't believe you will be able to run the application from the computer when running the Live CD.. Could it be at all feasible to install an additional Hard Disk on the computer temproarily in order to Install linux and then install the application that you need to test??

The nly Live CD I can think of that *MAY* work would be the SuSE 9.1 live cd... because it does enable you to save documents and setting onto the hard disk.. Even NTFS... (I don't know how it does that but it works) This could possibly be an option though I'm not sure.. good luck!
