Linux without CDs


Is there a way to download and install linux distros without CDs, if so can someone point me in the right direction?

Can you use floppies ? If so (for example) http://linux.simple.be/debian/floppy

well there are plenty of distro's that don't require full installation media, but they'll normally need some form of boot media to get started. from my experience both gentoo and fedora support installs across the net. gentoo's main installation methods relies on downloading from remote sites using their generic packagaing system, portage, whilst fedora supports ftp based media, which can be located anywhere, iuncluding the standard fedora mirrors.

Look for the boot floppy install disks/images you install using the internet/local network, I have done this with both Debian and SuSE.
