Smile Linux users--Are they all friendly?

OK, I am still a newbie so I should be able to get away with this soft stuff...

I have been on chat sites and forums for years, but I am new--within a couple of months--to Linux. Is it just my glazed over eyes or are all Linux users as nice as they appear here?

My faith in humanity is restored. No kidding! I keep expecting some puke to come out of a dark alley, but it never seems to happen.

I am beginning to think that world peace is possible after all.

Kind regards to you all.

Well I think it's *normally* a case of giving as good as you get. IF in help rooms and such you are phrasing questions in a manner that shows you are thinking about what you are doing, and have clearly researched issues yourself then you will nearly always be given very good and friendly advice. If you don't appear to make any effort for yourself then you are much more liekly to get a more negative response. it's all under the umbrella of the "how to ask smart questions" article below.
