I am looking for some linux distro that I will burn onto a cdrom togther with some programs that I want to use. I want to be able to run it and the progames with out installing either on the computer.
I do not think that I will be able to choose what programes I will be able to use. I want to choose them myself and not just use what come with the distro.

Demolinux gives you a the complete OS suite so to speak with KDE as your desktop. GIMP, Gaim, etc. etc. lots of features but keep in mind, becuase it's off CD it will run slower and take more time to boot/load etc. if you have less then 256mb of ram you may have a problem running more then one app at a time. but it WILL work if you really need it.
Why are you looking into bootable CDROM-Based Distro? Quite PC solution? If your looking for a silent machine get a Via C3 and a Seagate baracudda hardrive and the only fan you will have is the PSU, tho you can easily mod that too.
