Linux Standards

Hey,

I was just wondering about the "Industry and Organisational" standards that apply to Linux. Things like (maybe) the UNC and and body that defined the directory heirarchy structure / -> /home/ -> /home/$user etc etc.

Im not asking for general computing standards orgs. like CCIEE, ANSI, ISO etc etc but rather bodies or standards specific to the linux platform.

Thanks

Are you asking to Industry Standards that apply (more or less) to Linux ?
or standard specific to Linux ?
In the first category, there are certainly plenty of standards, amongst which POSIX is somewhat important.
In the second one there is LSB (Linux Standard Base), fhs is part of LSB.
