linux shared folder


Hi all,

iam new to linux. wanted to know-->how to create a shared directory in lunix which should be accessible from windows

You can create a partition in fat or ntfs
Or create the directory in windows, and mount it in Linux
Linux can use fat or ntfs, windows however can't use ext3

By a shared directory, do you mean you are dual-booting, or are you referring to a network share on your Linux computer accessible from a Windows computer?

for share linux you have to use samaba tool.

samba tool is some what detail but, it is very interesting

at left there is "how to" which contain every thing to configure it with case studies and examples.
