Linux is SO PHAT But..


i need to know how the directories works..
i need to know the way of thinking..

and i have a hard time configuring MPLAYER.. it always says that my GCC 2.9 is not good and i cannot add the DIVX codec...

why can't you add the codec? using divx4linux, it's easy. and to compile mplayer you need a versino other than 2.96 as it's not generally liked. you can force it to compile with that gcc version, but it's not recommended. install gcc3.0.x or 2.9.5 as well

Look at the installation instructions under the DOCS folder. This will tell you how to compile it with your gcc version. As far as divx you need to install what the other person said. Also you may want to read the installation instructions for other packages to install first for better performance.
