On my Dell I would key "F2" to get into the 'basic input output system' and see if my machine is seeing a hard disk drive first.
Once inside you can move the blue spot to any area you want and key "F1" for information and instructions.
Most linux distributations offer considerations and choices on the first instalation screen through the funtion keys "F1" through "F12" look for one that says "special instructions for some Dell Systems.
I always turn off the advanced computer power interface in the BIOS or at the boot prompt
