Linux Drivers


Hi i just installed Linux and Half life 2 but when i run it the intro shows and then i see just black screen.Maybe the game doesnt or i dont have the programs that need for game to run work but i didnt see any video drivers when installing Linux.So how i can install video drivers?Im using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS x64 just installed.

Which video hardware do you have?

Did you use Steam to install Half Life 2 or some other source (torrents, dvd)?

For video driver it says Intel ironlake standard.And i installed half life 2 from torrent and installed it with LinuxOnPlay and wine.

Do you own a legal copy of Half Life 2?

Ah i tried this http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2072420 and now in Graphics Driver its blank.How i can install drivers?

I reccomend you get HL2 on Steam when it is on sale. Just buy the "Orange Box" or whatever it is called. That should work without tweaking anything

Getting to work some cracked windows version on wine is pretty hopeless in my opinion.

When i go to PLayonlinux configuration i see install packages and there are video driver,vcrun-2005,06,2008,2009,dotnet and directx maybe they arent installed by default with game and i need to install them?
