linux distributions for astronomy


Hi,
i like astronomy and I found a linux distribution called distro astro.
Is there anybody using this distro ?
what do you think about this distro ?

Hi!
I think that every linux can be you distro for astronomy.
But maybe that is best for astronomy.
Try it.

In theory you could probably assemble its software on any distro, but it might be hard work and would involve a lot of compilation. The reviews look good, and the software selection is impressive:

It's been going for 6 years, so it's no flash in the pan. Go for it! If you like it, badger Distrowatch to include it in their database — many amateur astronomers, unlike professionals, will never have heard of it.

There is a better more active linux distribution called astronomy-linux. distro astro included windows programs running under wine, while A-L https://sourceforge.net/projects/astronomy-linux-18-04/
tries to solve all astronomy with linux solutions. It is based on ubuntu, and you can install window wine programs yourself if you wish.
It comes with a ton of linux based astronomy programs, and is available for ubuntu 16,18, and 19. Check it out!
