Limit of the loop module

Hi,

I've got the following problem, I've got a few 100 (about 320) iso's that I've got to mount. These images are on my hard-drive.
I already figured out that I should do this with the loop device.
Something lik: mount -o loop /home/user/cd1.iso /mnt/cd1 .
But I read somewhere that it isn't possible to use more than 256 loop devices at the same time.
Is this true?? and if, is there a other solution for this problem.

thanks in advance

Do they need to mount all at the same time? Maybe this will work:

Thanks,

I solved it this way.

P.s. no they do not be mounted all at the same time, but though they should be accessible all the time and that's exactly what I reached

Hmzz,

Still having a problem with my limit.

Because now I still have a limit of 16?? mounts at the same time, the 17th doesn't work.
With the automounter it is solved pretty much, but somtimes more then 16 mounts are neccessary at the same time.

Someone please help ?

At the beginning I had a limit of 8, but after some changes (I don't know which ones), I could use 16 loop's at the same time, but I can't get it working with more than 16 mount's

Although I get the following output:

Code:
[root@fssim02 isosrv_auto]# rmmod loop
[root@fssim02 isosrv_auto]# modprobe loop
[root@fssim02 isosrv_auto]# tail -1 /var/log/messages
Sep 21 16:56:18 fssim02 kernel: loop: loaded (max 255 devices)
Could someone please help?
