Question ksysv crashes and net not working at boot

hi, i'm using debian testing version, and i prefer using the gui... but ksysv did never work for me. it kept crashing no matter how i started it, with useless traces (no debugging symbols found). so one day i decided to try a win approach -one never knows- and uninstalled and reinstalled the package... nothing. then again, but this time "complete" (synaptic option, like "_" from aptitude). biiig mistake. not only keeps crashing, but now the eth1 interface is not loaded at boot, with a "network is down" message. my iptables config isn't, either. i have to bring them up afterwards. also, a new filesystem check appeared at boot, but that's less annoying. i did not reboot between the removal and the complete removal, so i'm not sure which one did start the boot problems. or if they were the cause at all... maybe it's just too much coincidence?
thanks in advance for any light.
